Sorry for making another topic ;?

I had these staples in(still) and on wednesday I tried to cut one of them, it was one staple for the smallest cut. I got the left side out of the skin, but now its kind of stuck, and I can't get the other side out, or cut the staple, or put it back in. Any advice on how to get it is greatly appreciated.

Go to the statcare (A level down fromt he emergency room, I do not know what you call it where you live) and have thme look at it. Be careful because now you are making yourself more likely to get an infection. You should have waited.

Go to the hospital and get it looked at like Levi said. Matt, don't try to pull any other staples out. Leave them be.

They are there to keep the incision closed so an infection doesn't start to form. All you need is one strong infectiong to get in there and you could end up with severe tissue damage.

Ok well like you have already been told man please dont pull out staples or stitches . .

Anyways. . the staples used in the hospital arent like the ones used for paper. they are basicly hooks and the stapler bends then in the center to pull both hooked ends together. So you need to unbend it in the center. then pushing the opposite direction from the cut push it out. If it was just one staple cut it probly wouldnt have gotten a staple had they not been already doin more some other place on you so if the cut stays together without that one staple then I recomend that you get 3M brand. . Must be 3M brand SUPER GLUE GEL. . Hint to the Gel part as well. This stuff is made on a steril line in the factory. With the cut cleaned out and holding together put a thin layer of super glue over the cut area extending out a ways to keep in together and clean. Good luck man and let me know if you need anything else or an explanation.

Can I not just kinda cut this out? Cos it keeps getting caught on stuff, really irritating.

Then wait. Having them in 4 more days won't be as bad as what'll happen of you do it yourself. Just wait.

I got it caught on something yesterday, and I didn't see it, and it pulled, and that hurt a lot. I know thats my own fault, but now I'm fearing I might get it caught and rip the whole thing out, so I want it out now.

Dimitri

Why would you not be able to get some gauze or a pressure bandage and put it over the staple

There's a fair bit of skin gone off my arm. But it doesn't hurt that bad, so I can deal with it in the morning,.

Eh, going by this you absolutely cannot leave it to tomorrow. Get it seen to now. Sleeping on it will do no good. You will roll over, brush it off something, and that's not good. Get it seen to!

I'm tired. And I'm not going all the way to the hospital tonight, fucking NHS. I'l wrap it up, sleep on it, get my nan to give me a lift tomorrow.

Fine then, risk the amputation of your arm, THIS IS MY AREA OF WORK!! I work in the ER and see things like this all the time and it does not always end good for the patient, maily because they might loose a body part and they get chewed out by the physician and they do not understand why. Your choice.

Malcolm Tucker

NHS are better equipped to deal with this than you, in all fairness. Every second that passes the higher the risk of infection, the slightest thing can do it. For your own good, just go and get it dealt with. It's nothing too hassle-worthy.

Please correct me if I am wrong but over here NHS means National Honors Society, is that the same in Europe?

No...He's in the United Kingdom. It means the National Health Service. The board overrunning all hospitals etc..

Better than 10am or 12pm tomorrow.

At least hospitals are sterile like.

Thanks for clearing that up man.

Okay now back to Matthew, I am sorry but I am about to become very cross with you:

YO BUDDY!! Listen here, you need to go to the ER NOW or you might just lose that arm. Either way here are some of the things that is if you lose said arm you might never be able to do properly again.

1. Eat right
2. Hug a gf/bj/or any family members right again
3. Swim
those are just a few though

AND ANOTHER THING:

Do you honestly think that if this were not a issue we would not be here, harping on you to go to the NHS?

This room is fairly clean. and a hospital waiting room will not be sterile. the royal is an hour away, longer on a bus. my nans out, wont be back for another hour, and im almost certain she'll drunk, so she wont be fit to drive. my hands are tied. ive already wrapped it, put pressure on the part that was bleeding, should keep until the morning, or when my nan/someone who isnt drunk can take me to the hospital.

Well Mr. Know it all,
What are you planning to do when you go into septic shock? Call a friend or something you need to take care of this. By the way, it does not matter how clean you "think" your room is, it pails in comparison to the hospital. And considering what you are describing what is happening to your arm I would think you would be seen rather quickly. You will be seen even faster if you call the ambulance!!

My cousin is going to take me. I texted her, she said she's coming now, she's only had a couple of drinks so it should be ok.

OMG, please think a little, your cousin might be able to hold her liquor but that is no reason to put both you and your cousins life at risk. Child, you are going to drive me to drink...........grrrrrrrr

She'd be driving home anyway. She called, sounded and seemed completely sober. She'll be ten minutes, so il change this dressing.

NO kust leave it on. Do not touch it anymore, you have done enough damage already. Just write down a list of the medications you are taking and any allergies you have and bring your insurance cards, I have no idea if they use them in the UK.

Don't try and cut out a really strong staple in your with a pair of garden shears and rip most of the skin of your arm?

If you continue doing this they will plaster cast it, because it will work out cheaper then you charging the hell out of the NHS or some other random public health if ure out of UK, but serious you could risk blood poisining and then you lose you body part
