So... Today is the national day of silence to honor LGBT, and those who have fought/are fighting for their rights.
Today, we honor those who have died and who are still fighting for their sexuality.
Stop bullying!! (: Dont talk for the wholeeeee day. I'm not. Half of my high school has ducktape over their mouths.
For more info go to google or youtube.
Who else is participating????

I unfortunately can't participate, I have to give a speech at a local school. However, except for that, I'm not speaking, so I suppose I am participating. :)

I've been silent still all day. I even made a heart on the ducktape on my mouth (:
I'm glad to see at least some of you are participating.
Remember, you don't have to be a LGBT to participate, this is to stop bullying...

I honestly have never seen the point in doing anything like this. It will not directly (and I doubt indirectly) make any metaphysical change occur whatsoever, produce any form of honour nor help people 'fight for their sexuality'. It just seems to be some faddy thing people to do make themselves feel better about themselves. I also dislike how the acronym 'LGBT' is used so much as a noun.

I was going to try and say that LGBT and all the other sexuality labels should continue doing what they're doing but obviously I can't pin-point a specific aim / action / goal in this post. If you are being denied a 'right' you feel you 'should have', the only really effective thing you can do is to take direct action: disobey, protest, piss those off who are being idiots to you and withholding what you think you should have. You shouldn't need a group of people to give you a pat on the back and say they support you for you to stick up for yourself. You are you primarily, society and community comes afterwards.

Sorry to be an arse but yer.

Haha i've been on this forum for a while, checking every now and then for interesting threads to read or reply to, and it has all been the same "help me what sexuality am i?" and "help i'm being bullied at school" and silly little surveys, everyone talking complete rubbish becuase they can't be bothered to think how to compose an intelligent reply. You are the first reply in months of sifting through shit that actually answers the question and makes sense. Good on you man, id like to see you here more often to do that to threads heaving with mostly irrelevant and unintelligible answers, because its actually appalling to see that everyday instead of people talking about the bigger picture in life. Everyone else, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
Cheers

I am supporting this good cause. And many have died to fight for their human right.
