Yeah I just switched to an LCD. I really like it. I wanted a 19" LCD or CRT. The CRT 19" are like 30 pounds lol, not to mention all the heat they generate.

AHH!!
I've been down-graded!
heres the story...
my brothers setup uses two computer screens. One of his is starting to go as mine was...really fuzzy looking
so he orders a nice big 20" wide screen so he will only have to use one monitor for when he goes to college and all...easy to move
so now we get everything set in place and my mom sees that we have an extra CRT monitor in 20"...well she says, "Return the new flat screen you just got and give Dave the extra CRT 20" monitor"
so after some time im not getting that new monitor..they just dont want to spend the money on a new wide screen as well as the great price I got for this flat screen today at just $120
ill return the new LCD tomorrow and now im stuck with another CRT
this isn't fun..........

CRT > LCD for gaming. No blur.

Not really.
I got my 19" LCD for 218 and it has a 2ms response time so no blur :)
Also I don't feel like lugging around a fuxing 40 pound CRT. Not to mention how much heat they generate!

you can always open the monitor and tear out one small wire where it won't turn on anymore, and go tell your mom the screen burnt out lol

You will never get true black with an LCD. Has anyone ever noticed how dumbasses advertise "19" LCD Display for 100 bucks!" Doesn't Liquid Crystal Display Display sound a little redundant to you?

ya lol, but i like my 17" crt for my second monitor because of all of the heat it generates.

Thats a good idea :)
LCD's are so much lighter and plus they take up harldy any space!

Yea im thinking of getting a flat screen LCD. I have money to spare, and the one i have right now is like 2 feet long and 1000000 pounds. I need the extra space badly, its not like ill be doing any serious gaming or anything on here that i need this huge CRT.

well they are not returning it for whatever reason..maby they feel I should get one.
everyone else in the house has either a desktop or laptop and all but mine have an LCD screen now.
they might let me keep it...I can see it go either way though
cant say it burned out, staples would still take it even if it was...its boxed up now
staples says they will take anything for just about any reason.
maby ill try sticking my huge 40 pound CRT in the box and return it then LMAO

yea, i been thinking about getting rid of my CRT too. it's a 17-inch viewsonic, and it looks great, it just takes up way too much space on my desk.

I know what ya mean about space...my computer desk is a tiny DIY type kit out of the box.

WTF!?!
My monitor just died on me...the CRT that was on my brothers computer which he gave to me when he got the LCD
I turned on the computer this morning and noticed it was really dard....so I maxed out the brightness and all that to make it better and started looking up my email when out of nowhere there was a sound like a firecracker going off in my monitor and it shut down.
I pulled the power as soon as it did this and shut the computer down.
The monitor is getting power in the cord but for some reason its not getting into the monitor itself...no light or anything
thinking about it more...a firecracker sound is normally like a capacitor blowing up.....Now out of curiosity I have to look into it lol
Anyways its a good thing we didnt return that 17" LCD yet because I'll need it
im on one of the other desktops now
Why can't my desktop blow up so I can get a new one of those? lol
