Cutting and numbness

Has anyone ever felt numbness in the place where they used to cut heavily?


Here is why I ask. For multiple years I used to cut multiple times a day, it got out of control. At this point though, my entire left arm feels numb when it's not experiencing some form of pain. It just seems...detached from my body, if that makes any sense. I know this probably doesn't make much sense at all.

It DOES make sense. You've become so used to that feeling that you're not too sure what to do without the feelings. At first when I read this I thought you meant when you cut it feels numb (Because after you've cut the same spot so often it eventually loses feeling). But now I get what you mean.

Like now when i cut, even though i can see im going deep i cant feel it?
So i have to go that bit further.. or move places :/

I get it in my thigh, seeing as that's the place i used to cut a lot. To me, it's kinda of a sign telling me that i don't need it, that because it's numb, you shouldn't touch that area. My knuckles can get too, i think that it's just a sign that you are having urges or a sign not to harm.

I get the same thing on my hip where I usually cut.

Nope. No numbness. Just loss of feeling in some parts of my arm from previous cuts.
