What exactly is it that girls want in a guy? There is a girl that I am friends with and I want to be more than friends with, but she keeps sending me mixed messages. It's really confusing. I don't think she likes me but sometimes she is flirty and sometimes she is just bored when we talk. Or sometimes when we see each other in the halls she will smile and wave and other times she will not even look at me. What can I do to make her more intrested in me? What do these signs mean?

Girls are not all the same. You can't just ask one girl what she likes and that applies to all of them.

About the mixed message thing. She probably doesn't like you. If she did she would always be talkative and wave at you and definitely make an effort to talk to you as much as possible even if she is shy.

It is almost impossible to say.
She may like you. But on those occassions you think shes ignoring you she may just simply not have seen you. On the other hand she may just like you as a friend.

Shes waiting for you to ask her out. Trust me, same thing happened to me and i eventually asked her out and it turns out she was waiting.

every girl is different so i cannot say... like i know this one girl who will strattle some guys and pretend to ride them with clothes on, hug them all the time, and other signs.... and she doesnt even like to be kissed or touched... and she will like bitch you out or make u seem like an asshole
