Alright, so I have a broken dv9930US and I've decided I am going to try to fix it using this method.

(Basically you take a pen torch to the GPU to heat it up, so that the chip resolders to the motherboard)

Anyone else believe this is an absolutely horrible idea? XD

When it comes to soldering and computing, I don't really do it. It's not something I am in favour of, but if it works then that's great. Good luck!

Well, It's already broken, I'm not going to sell a broken motherboard to anyone. :) If it works, it works. If it doesn't I'll just part it out

Go for it :) i had luck with mine, just make sure you dont heat up the chip too much

use dell laptop. I use the same. it never break. I have sat on it few times also it fell down for couple of times from my lap.
