You gotta get more active. That's the main issue. Go for a run after school around town or something, anything that gets you moving.
As for the food, it may be because your brother has a fater metabolism than you. Nothing really that you can do about that, just try to eat healthier and stay away from the sugary snacks and stuff.

But just move around for a little bit every day. If you want to, join a sports team or something and make a personal goal for yourself. That's what I did. I didn't care about my overall success on the team or whether we won or not, I joined because I wanted to get more active. Try that

It's not so much how much you eat, it's how much you eat coupled with how active you are. Like Captain94 said, go for a run or something every day. I lost about 30 lbs but i still have aa little bit to go :)

For some it is easier than others. Every person's body is different. I can eat 3-4000 calories a day and not gain a pound, or eat nothing and not lose a pound. You just need to get out and do something.

Start off small, try some crunches and push-ups. Stretch out and go for a walk, eventually working your way up to a jog and then a run. Start small and build up. If you have a weight room at your school, find out what it's after school hours are. Find a sport that is interesting to you and give it a try. The biggest thing is to have someone to report to. Tell someone your goals and ask them to make you responsible for them. Find someone to get active with you. Maybe your brother would be interested? Just don't think of it as exercise. Make it fun and maybe use an iPod to keep your mind off the workout.

Personally, I wake up every day in the summer and go for a 2-3 mile run, and I do sit ups and push ups. At night, I go for another run and a bike. During the winer I am active on a championship swim team, where I swim for 5 hours a day, 6 days a week. During the off-season, I swim around 2-3 hours per day, 4 days a week. I also go after school to my schools weight room and lift for 2 hours, 3 days a week during the spring and fall. I have a coach to hold me responsible and friends to keep me occupied.

The key to burning fat is eat less calories than you burn. There's no way out of that. You have to be active to lose weight.

I oscillate from being pretty fit to a little chubby. In-season for baseball I slim down because I run a lot. Out of season, I get lax about working out and I eat more, etc.

I used to be 250 lbs 5'8" (I know), then I just cut back. I got all the way down to 170 (I'm pretty muscular and 6'2", this was pretty fit for me.) Now I've gotten back to around 215-220. Going to have to cut back again a little more. It's all about balance, which I clearly lack.

A lot of it is pre-determined by genetics, so you can't do a lot about that. You could try the stuff that people said above, reducing caloric intake and increasing activity. Also, there's a chance that it could just be because of puberty. I had a bit of a fat phase when I was 11/12, I got up to about 140 pounds before I hit my growth spurt and slimmed down again. Especially since you're not the tallest guy, it might just be that you gained weight before gaining height

Haha yeah my best friend is just naturally skinny he eats as much and whatever he wants and still skinny me on the other hand eat relatively heathy and watch how much food I eat vs how much Ill work off. If your not into sports maybe find an active thing your into. I doesn't have to be crazy just something simple like a bike ride. I also do push ups, sit up, and have free weights. Idk if you wanna know more hit me up.

You're exactly like me dude, just need to do some more excercise and maintain a balanced diet.
