I'm sorry about creating another thread right now, but it's an entirely different question.

I make myself sick, after binging or just after eating if I feel particularly bad. I know that's not healthy or whatever that's not what I'm asking. The problem is I have a dentist appointment tomorrow afternoon, and I read somewhere that the dentist can tell if you've been sick a lot. So does anyone know if they can tell?

I used to purge when I was younger a few years ago and it was never commented on by my dentist then, but now I've started purging again over the last few months I'm worried he'll be able to tell. I can't deal with my mum knowing about this too. I hope I've just made this all up I really do.

So basically if anyone knows if this is true? Or have had it happen to them then any help will be greatly appreciated :)

The acid can damage your teeth.
But I don't think he will notice unless you have done it so much your teeth are rotting away. Don't worry, keep calm. If he says anything just keep calm and say whatever.. You could tell the truth? But I know that's a hard thing to do, just say you have been Ill recently or something? Don't panic it will be ok, they only ask because they care and they are worried about you, good luck :)

As Fran said, I think they can only tell if you've been doing it for a long time so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
