I'd go for building a PC yourself. More options available to you than a Mac Mini.

A LOT more options.
I have personally never owned a mac, but i have experienced that you have get more choices and "freedom" with a having a PC.
And building your own PC is really cool, it is a nice technical experience.

The specs for the modern Mac Mini are absolute shit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_mini#Specifications_3) for the price. I cannot emphasize how badly you would be wasting your money by buying one of these ripoff gimmicks over building your own computer.

By building a PC, you can customize every feature of it to your liking and create a much more powerful machine for hundreds less.

Build a PC, get a good Linux operating system, like Fedora, Ubuntu, or Gentoo, and install that and live in complete freedom to choose.

What do you mean, "how do you build a computer"?

Don't buy a mac. They're overpriced toys with sub-par hardware. Admittedly, they look pretty sexy, but they aren't worth the money you put into them.

Get an AMD processor, Intel may offer some speed boosts, but AMD packs way more punch for the $$$. I'd also go for an AMD graphics card, but this one is a tossup, nVidia is about the same price for comparable graphics cards as AMD/ATI, but my experiences with AMD have been more pleasant than those with nVidia. But it's up to your preference. Go for fewer, larger RAM sticks as well if you can afford it, it will give you room to expand later. If you'll leave a budget (or PM me works too) I can suggest you some stuff.

I built a computer a few months ago, I don't regret it.

Build a pc that you can upgrade. Use parts that are fairly new and plus with a pc their is more customization and being able to fit it to your needs. Especially if you build it.

ive read about how Apple puts OLD processors and hardware into their sleek computers and raise the prices way up. For what, 2000$ you can have a mac. Imagine what pc you could build for the same price as a mac? :)

Yeah, the new MacBook Pro's have new processors, the iMacs have last-gen processors, but the Mac Mini is using a processor from '06 and it still can cost up to 1000 dollars if you want a decent system out of it. Apple also way overprices their memory (which isn't even very fast) and graphics cards (which are also pretty old except in the new-release Macs).

You'll get more bang for your buck if you build a PC.

I'm getting a 13 inch MacBook pro its faster lighter less Than an inch thick. You can choose between a glossy shiny screen or anti glare screen it has an aluminum unibody so it is built stronger and it's less prone to viruses also I have an iPhone so if you have an iPad iPhone or iPod it will be nice to have everything from the same company the MacBook pro also has a backlit keyboard and never gets hot or noisy the fan lightly blows out from the keyboard but you can't feel it or hear it at all so you can leave it on a bed or Couch or something without it Overheating. They are also better for less computer savvy people honestly how will the average computer person know how to build there own pc

From the looks if it the only way to get a better pc is to build your own and it will only be better if you are good at it
