View Full Version : It's really unfair.

I'm putting on weight, I know I am, I'm getting fat. It's not my imagination or anything I am. But I don't eat. On a day to day basis I eat one meal. If I'm forced to I eat one and a half. I hate food, well not so much food more the concept of eating it. I hate eating in public, I just compare myself to others until I feel shit enough to stop even thinking about eating. Tonight I refused a drink because I was worried about what the calories were. I know that's bad but that's not what I'm upset about. Even when I binge, which I admit I've done more than I used too (twice in the past week) I always ALWAYS purge. I do excessive excercise to make sure I burn off any calories I do eat. It's getting to the point where I have to be conned into eating the one meal I do eat. I never wanted it to be like this. But I'm not losing the weight it's the opposite.
So why am I putting on weight? I'm so fat now. It just seems unfair. What's wrong with me?

You "look" like you're getting fat because your body is not receiving enough nutrients and energy by eating and it converts your muscles into fat.
Eat better, worry less about calories count and stuff and enjoy! Do the exercise NEEDED, and not too much, which is actually bad for you...

You know, eating too much isn't the only thing that can make you fat. To avoid being fat, you need to eat a healthy diet which would obviously be considerably more than what you're eating now. As mentioned above, eating far too little can actually make you fatter because your body is converting muscle into fat in order to avoid starvation. You really need to eat sensibly, no matter how 'fat' you think you are.

Not exactly a tactful question to be asking is it...
Louise eating a small amount will put your body into starvation mode. This is where your body starts eating the muscles in your body, instead of the fat because it has more stored energy. If you really want to loose weight you'd be much better doing it in a healthy way. You also won't be binging as much if you're loosing it in a healthy way. Make sure you eat over about 1,300 calories in order to stop your body going into starvation mode. xx

Ok, So basically you are all saying I should eat more?
I'm sorry this is going to sound stupid but I don't think I can.
My mother made biscuits today and usually this is the type of thing I'd avoid but she was being suspicious and offering me one, but making it almost like a test I suppose. She commented on how I'd eaten nothing at home yesterday, I told her I ate out. Anyway I ate this biscuit, but I almost threw up. it took me forever to eat, i just couldn't. But I had too, she was watching. I can't eat more this'll happen I know it will.
Starvation mode? Surely you have to actually be starving yourself for that to apply? I do eat, I usually eat a meal a day. I'm not starving myself.

One meal its not enough! You should eat at least 3 good ones or 5 smaller ones.
Trust us when we tell you this, you HAVE to eat more; as we said, your muscles are converting into fat because they have energy stored, called glycogen. Other than that, its not a healthy thing to do, and your body will start feeling more and more tired along time... if you don't eat enough you won't be able to exercise... you can't exercise without energy.
I don't know if it has happened to you already, but you might end up passing out.

Eating a meal a day IS starving yourself.
Build it up. Start small. Maybe eat small things throughout the day rather than big meals?

I have passed out before or at least I've fainted if that's the same thing, but that was just because I hadn't eaten, then did pe so yeah :/ but that was a while ago.
I can try eating small things throughout the day. Would that mean I'd stop being in "starvation mode" ?

If you eat enough of it, yeah.

You have to eat at least small things, because you stop eating you dont just enter the starvation mode but your metabolism gets more and more slow that means you will not burn anything because you are not providing the body the energy it needs. So do small meals eat fruits vegetables and of course other foods as well and if you want you can exercise too
