hi, I'm Vanessa, and I'm 14. recently, i've been feeling really depressed and upset. i decided to take some online depression tests:
one said i possibly have moderate to severe depression
the second that i might have moderate
and the third that i had high results for seasonal affective disorder and moderately high for clinical depression.
i'm so confused and i don't know what to do. i'm scared to tell somebody, i feel like i'll look stupid if nothings wrong with me at all. please help me. please.

Internet tests aren't exactly accurate. Please don't take them as the absolute truth, because they're really not.
Tbh, most teenagers go through stages of feeling pretty depressed for a while, it happens to most people. How long has it been going on for?
I know what it's like when people say "it's just a phase," but really it's something more than that, so I know it's not nice. My parents thought I was just going through some sort of teenage phase, but it turns out I do have a problem that isn't just a "phase" and it probably would have carried on into my adult life if I hadn't ended up getting help.
No one here can diagnose you with depression or anything else like that. Neither can the internet.
If you talk to a friend when you're feeling down, maybe that could help.
Everyone on VT is here for you, I'm here if you need someone to talk to

These test aren't trustworthy, maybe you should talk with a psychologist to see if you really have depression

As has been said, these tests aren't accurate although I guess if you're taking one of these tests then you must have had some concern beforehand?
As Georgia said, everyone goes through points of depression in their life, particularly teenagers. Although it depends how long this depression has been going on, and how serious it is. Please could you give us some more details?
