Okay to wear pajama pants in public?

You know the kind (http://www.dealstudio.com/searchdeals.php?type=id&q=d228963&ru=27705744) with very colorful designs and it seems to be a big fad, too.
Has this fad passed yet? Some people think wearing pajama pants outside is very lazy and sloppy while others may consider it a cool fashion statement. Sometimes I had to go out in pajama pants because I didn't have any clean pants left to wear and I needed some change for laundry. sweatdrop

I live in a college town so I where pj pants out to dinner lol yeah it's cool I think but not all the time for sure lazy weekends

I went to work in a pair, i was hungover and couldn't be bothered to change.

I believe people should have a level of self-respect when dressing. I also believe that running rampant in nightwear is not holding yourself to any standards. It's distasteful in my opinion, the closest I come to "bumming it" is wearing windbreakers. I never wear pajama bottoms in public or when I have company over.

Maybe as a last resort but if you still have good pants, why not use them right?
