Homosexuality (Gay / Lesbian)
Homosexuality has had discrimination and wrongful acts against it since biblicle times. Few societies may have people that still see homosexuality as taboo, however there is nothing wrong with being gay or lesbian. People that feel uncomfortable around homosexual people are commonly either uneducated or narrow-minded. Again, homosexuality is just a preference to the same sex, and that's completely okay.
Gay is the term that's mostly assoicated with males. Lesbian is the term that only applies to females. The stereotypes for gay individuals are as follows: gay men are more feminine while lesbian women are more masculine. Stereotypes usually hold some truth, and this is no different, however, this deeply depends on the person and what their personality is like. For some people, the stereotype couldn't be farther from the truth.
A teen may realize that he or she is gay after being sexually curious for a period of time. On occasion, a teen may prefer the same sex as soon as he or she starts puberty. So it is quite possible for a sexually curious, homosexual teenager to end up being straight or bisexual by the end of puberty.
