Default I'm just going to say it.

I know I am going to get in trouble for posting this,(not by moderators(I hope))
Anyway, I think I might have schizophrenia, I just need to see a doctor or something.
I hear music almost every waking second, which is not that bad, but enough to take attention away from other things. I also hear 2 voices, one is male (Jeff), and the other is just a voice. The one with no name tells me to hurt myself and others, and Jeff is stern and tells me to get to work (even when there is none to be done. )
I have these moments, where I stare into space, but I am living somewhere else... Everything is real, I can feel, smell, see, everything. People talk to me there, and have conversations. But it is not real. Sometimes I get confused, and think something I thought was real, but wasn't. This is even worse when I get told to hurt others by that namless thing, I go into that other place, and kill. I can feel it all, hear the screams... I hate it.
And, I feel like I am being watched as I type this. They say I can't say this, but they never said anything about typing. SO TAKE THAT!!!
I need to see a doctor...
Please don't think less of me, I am slowly finding out who I am myself...

Ummm, the obvious thing to do is go to a doctor if your that concerned. Look more into Schizophrenia and it's symptoms. Just because you hear voices and "feel" that your in that other place doesn't mean you have it. I hear voices sometimes, but I'm sure I'm wayyyyy to young to have Schizophrenia. Good luck.

Okay, don't take this the wrong way but; I think it'd be pretty cool to have voices in my head.
Not on a regular basis, though. I'm sorry for you. The music part isn't so bad I guess, as long as it's music you like.
But yes, it sounds very distracting.
Are you going to see the doctor?

Oh, and for the love of god, I'M STRAIGHT and I DON'T trade pics.
And another thing. I hate PMs saying, "hey, what's up?" Thy're pointless.[/rant]

Lol, looking at reputation in the CP and seeing how immature bratty kids deal with 'mean people'. I laugh every time.

I have paranoid schizophrenia, I was diagnosed at the age of 19 but have had a history of undiagnosable mental illness since as early as 14. I say undiagnosable because over here in Australia, it is rare to find a psychiatrist that will diagnose a minor with something huge like schizophrenia, bipolar, DID etc. All I could get was a "weelllll... it's possible you have schizophrenia...".

I'm not a doctor, so I can't diagnose you, but I'd say it is possible you are experiencing what is called a psychosis. It's a good idea for you to get this sorted out now before this escalates. For young people experiencing their first psychosis, there are programs called "early psychosis" programs. There are several of these all over the world, and an incomplete list can be found at: http://www.schizophrenia.com/earlypsychosis.htm. It's pretty out of date, as not even the early psychosis service I am in is listed.

I suggest going to see a psychiatrist as soon as possible. Preferably one that specialises in adolescent mental health and/or psychotic illnesses. Diagnosing schizophrenia is not an easy process, it took me 3 months in a psychiatric facility and an extensive history of mental illness for me to get diagnosed. You may need several opinions.

My advice is, tell the psychiatrist EVERYTHING. Don't hold back! If you hold back the tiniest bit of information, it could be the bit that makes a difference in your diagnosis. Perhaps you could document the things you experience to have it prepared for when you do seek help?

You could be dissociating a little bit (where you go into your own world etc) which can happen with schizophrenia but is not the main component.

Thank you Permanence, but my state isn't eve on there, anyway, I can't tell my mother yet, she'll get even more stressed. Thats why I feel so bad. (I think)
I just hate the feeling of it all, it explains alot in my past, if I sit and thnik on it.
Maybe I can put up with it till I'm out of college? But I don't think I can take 5+ years with no help.

Maybe I should keep a journal?.

As I said, the list is incomplete and out of date. It is possible that there is a service new to your state. Even if there isn't, there shouldn't be any reason for you to not seek help.

If you really think this is schizophrenia, you need to sort it out now. Your prognosis is much better the earlier you get it sorted out. You turn 18 soon so you can go and see any psychiatrist, not just one from an early psychosis service, without your parents having any knowledge of it.

Yes, I suggest you start keeping a journal.

sweety I'l personally hunt down anyone who thinks less of you because you are concerned about whats going on. You are brave to admit it and want to figure it out. I dont know if its schizophrenia or something else so i'm not going to go and try to tell you whats happening but I think that maybe talking to a psychiatrist might be a smart choice even if its just getting what is happening with you out there where there is someone local to help you out. Sometime even having someone there to watch you and make sure everything is going smoothly can help (personal experience). I use to have black out and in one of my blackouts I hurt someone I cared about and thats what drew the line for me, made me take a good look at what was going on.

I agree with the keeping a journal. It's a good idea and will help you keep track for everything thats going on and perhaps help when talking to the doctor.

If you ever need to talk or just have someone listen PM me. you have friends here dont be scared to talk to them.

Well, now everybody is mad at me.
I didn't do anything, but I can't shake the feeling that they want me to go away.
This is including my family, but is it real? Well, I know my mom is mad for sure...
I can't even begin to describe how I feel anymore, like people are talking about me behind my back (I'm sure of it) Everything I say is being repeated. If I am correct, this has happened before, with my parents and their fighting and crap, but I thought they where fighting to make me kill myself or to change me in some way. Just the way it happened was too suspicious. I've been looking and searching all over and I am finding that my whole teenage life is almost a lie. And by that I mean to say that I have looked back to see that my whole foundation is fake, what I thought, was not real. (in a away)
I don't even know if I should be saying this, because it will make even more people angry. But I have to get it out somehow.

I am seeing a doctor, next month.
Today has been a bad day, very excitable really, I feel like people are all around me, but, just there, it is rather unnerving, I hope I can actually get GOOD help this time.
I can't even explain how I feel today, like, air? YES! Air, all around, but not together...
right?Well...

There is no age limit, however, there is much hesitation to diagnose someone when they're young. There is also the prodromal stage, which is when the patient experiences some symptoms but not the full disorder yet. For schizophrenia, it can be hard to figure out when one is actually in the prodromal stage as there's no set age requirement but rather 1-2 years before the actual disorder (in some it may go undetected or not considered to be schizophrenia so they may just get the overall diagnosis right away). There are categories for this and so to make it simple, I'm just going to post a link to it. The first is a very brief description of this HERE and the second link was a paper issued by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) HERE.

Hearing voices would not make you disorganized though as that would occur if your speech was disorganized, along with how you act. For example, you may jump from topic to topic in a way that really makes no sense and is very difficult to follow. Hearing voices is one of the symptoms of schizophrenia, however, the actual sub-types would depend on more than just that, they depend on your behavior and actions mostly. The other sub-types would be if you did excessive drugs (no, not marijuana as that's been debunked countless times), such as LSD or PCP, which not so ironically are used in subjects to induce psychosis to study it.

Despite what you may wish, I'm not going to provide links to the actual criteria of each sub-type, although Google could find them for you if you so wish. The reason is a massive problem of self-diagnosing, which can influence your perception on whether you have schizophrenia or something else, and consequently, your behavior to mimic having it, something which a doctor can and have been fooled by.
