Default 365 Days Later

It's taken nearly a year,
But I feel as if I've finally turned it all around.
Haven't had any outstanding depressive or psychotic episodes in a while.

This time last year,
I was having a terrible case of rapid cycling.
I lost my job because of it,
Had to move back in with my parents,
Excessively self-harmed to cope,
Stopped taking my meds,
Basically felt like the scum of the earth,
Since I had let myself down so bad.

I can remember it all so clearly.
I could write a long story; But
I won't bore you all with the details though.

It feels good to have control over my life again.
As much as I do miss living at home,
I feel so much more confident in myself,
Now that I've had my job back for 6 months,
Living in an apartment again,
And most importantly,
Having my moods in check with updated medication,
And regular therapy sessions.
I've re-gained my self-respect, which is a huge part of recovery = ]

There are a few certain people from here that I'd love to thank,
For being supportive all the way through this,
And then some.
I'm proud to call you guys my friends.
I don't need to name you guys off,
You all know who you are <3

So if you care to find me, look to the western sky.
As someone told me lately, everyone deserves a chance to fly.

That's so awesome, Steph. You're a great example of someone who's really worked hard in order to overcome some serious obstacles. I know how debilitating Bipolar Disorder can be, and I'm really happy to see how well you're doing. That sounds like a lot of progress for one year, too; congrats!

Whatever you're doing, keep it up!
