Unhappy Blackouts that lead to cutting

Hi I am Elizabeth and I have a problem I've been trying to handle since i was 13. Everytime i get deep into depression i blackout and start to cut and ive tried using coping methods from being in the hospital and they still dont work I dont know what to do, can you tell me some ideas not to cut.

Where do the blackouts come from in the first place, your mood or a health issue? The first plan of action would be to try and prevent these happening in the first place which would reduce your likelihood of cutting.

This thread is a stickied thread and has a few really good coping methods, some that I hadn’t heard of before and sound really good. Another addition to this is that you keep some sort of journal and record your blackouts and the amount of times you harm so you can self-reflect. I feel that this would personally help me since I’m a person who has to have everything collated into one place.
