Default Prank

When does a prank goes too far with a best friend?
For example, pantsing or anything alike (i know it depends on the factors like how many people are around and all that)

But with your best friend when do you think it gets too far?

I don't know...guess this depends on the people involved.

Personally I don't prank others since I don't like it at all, and people around me know better than to prank me.

However I have some friends you prank each other in real freaky ways and seem both okay.

So difficult to give an answer.
Hurting or humiliating someone with a prank is not okay, otherwise depends on the individual how far you can go I'd guess.

Not sure what your definition of pranking is but I'm not a big fan. Anything that embarrasses or shows up a friend is not a good thing. Good natured teasing is fine but anything beyond that doesn't really do anybody any good.

I agree. Anything that embarrasses or puts one in an awkward position isnt good, especially if its your best friend.

I'm not a big fan of pranks, they're kinda dumb. There's nothing left to surprise people with, without being genuinely hurtful or humiliating. There are better ways to goof with people imo. Pranking - like putting red cups full of water all over the floor of someone's house - is just fucking with people and being a pest.

If you were to do something like pour water on the driveway in the winter, that would be a prank that goes too far.
Here are some examples pranks you should NOT do:
  • Putting food dye in the washing machine
  • Placing plastic wrap on top of the toilet (It will make a big mess of pee)
  • Putting a mouse trap in backpack
  • Sewing needles and pins on carpet

But here are some examples pranks that are just funny, but will not cause annoyance or any physical harm (They are completely fine to do):
  • Clear nail polish on soap bar
  • Unplugging the TV
  • Placing a fake spider inside the toilet paper
A good and harmless prank will not make a mess that the victim needs to clean up, nor will any physical harm or danger occur.

Prank calls can be annoying to some people. Unless you know the person is fine with it, prank calls can annoy some people.

Pranks that can cause harm to people and property are stepping over the line in most cases. And scare pranks, while good in moderation, can often go overboard very quickly. Adtse brought up some good ideas with his post. IMO, pranks are fine with small scares and little tricks, but unless you really know the person and know they are fine with it, I wouldn't go further.

It depends on the relationship you have with them and if they are a private person. If me best friend pantsed me it would not be ok. I know other guys that would think it was hilarious.

I'm not a fan of pranking anyone either. But, I know some guys who like to do it when they can. It looks like fun until something goes wrong. Then it's not fun anymore. I've seen some friendship break up cause of pranking gone wrong. Personally, I don't do any pranking or participate in it.

Me and my friends decided to flood my other friend's locker door with sticky notes with funny messages on them. This is a very funny and innocuous prank that is good and causes no harm.

I think itís about how well you know your friend, and his limits. If you know heíll take it ok, and wonít feel hurt by it, is all in fun, then thatís ok. But the prankster I think has like a responsibility to know his friend well enough to know whatís ok and whatís not. Whatís ok for one friend may not be cool with another friend. And you should know that going in. But also, you should be ok with the friend doing something similar to you, and if you canít deal with that then donít do one on him

This is how I feel too. No wonder Mick and I have gotten to be good friends. We do think a lot alike. I just don't believe in humiliating anyone in front of their peers and friends unless it is a form of punishment for something that they have done to someone else. You can ruin a good friendship by doing foolish things that may end up hurting that person.

I am gay and happy with that.
I love talking to people very open & willing to listen.
I am also glad to try help with questions or problems.

Pranks are supposed to be funny. When the prank is hurtful, I think it's gone too far.

Good answers so far. Don't hurt people's feelings or property pretty much.
