I would just tell them what you want to do and ask them if they approve.

I am gay and happy with that.
I love talking to people very open & willing to listen.
I am also glad to try help with questions or problems.
Hit me up for anything. I promise I don't bite.

You gotta make sure you give the background first. Like why ur doing it. If you have both a mom and a dad, ask the one who you think is more likely to say yes first. I would ask in private, not at the dinner table etc. Also don't give up if they say no. I've been asking to get my ear pierced, and my mom finally agteed. Now I just have to save the money

Here's what I always do. Talk to the parent that you are the most comfortable with first and they will inevitably tell the other.

I tell first my mother when I want to do something and she will tell my father that he agree

i always make sure my mom is in a "yes" mood or we already kinda talking about something similar. last week she wanted to have a "sex" talk and that is when i said it would be a good idea if she let me get the pill from my gyn dr. she didn't think i was old enough yet, but agreed to if the dr said OK.

if i had just asked her cold, she normally would change the subject. she doesn't like talking about "sex" stuff.

If you can print something out explaining what they do, give it to them to read and let them know you're interested in doing it

My girlfriend had a similar issue before she shaved her head for charity and at first they said no but she managed to cajole them into letting her do it.

The way she did it was that she talked to her mum about the recent "brave the shave" adverts that had been going round and how she would like to do it. She also asked for her parents opinion a lot too to make them feel more included so she knew that she wasn't making the wrong decision.

If they say no at first, don't feel too discouraged and wait for a better time to ask them. If they see that you're 100% sure it's the right thing and that you definitely want to do it they may be more lenient.

If they do let you do t, it can also be really beneficial to set up a page too, for donations. My gf got something like 900 gbp in donations and sponsors for her head shave?? All the money went to the charity she chose to donate her hair too as well and it would be another helping hand for the charity.

Good luck - tell us how it goes!

Why? It's your intention that counts.

Why not just grow your hair and donate it to Locks For Love? They use the hair to make wigs for cancer patients including kids. All they require is 10 inches.
