i got really lucky and not

Today was my first day of gym class since semester two started today. When I got to fourth hour and realized how in deep shit I was in now my mood dropped and I was so afraid. luckly enough I found my teacher right away after she was done introducing herself and asked if I could wear long sleeved shirts in gym without affecting the dress grade and she said yes! Then later I realized I have scars that are really visible above my ankles and go almost up to my knees. So after school I found her and asked if I could wear basketball pants instead of shorts and she said yes! I have been dreading this class for so long and now I have a little less stress about it. But when I was zoning out for a few seconds she said we start swimming on Thursday. So i don't know if I should get a doctors excuse and could get a legit one because of the scars or because I get insane body chills after going in. So what should I do?

Seeing as your teacher has been so understanding, even if she doesn't know the problem, do you think that you could confide in her and tell her the reason you don't want to go swimming? If not then a doctors letter would probably cover it, her knowing the truth would be better though. If she thinks you're lying then next time she might not be so quick to let you wear long sleeves/trousers.

I could but teachers have to tell our parents by law, so if I do its not gonna end well. Also I don't know how to ask my mom to get me a doctors note? She knows I cut but I don't know if she is willing to ask for one for that reason and I don't think she knows I still cut

I can try tell her thar you can't stand the looks. Try to put her in your place. The problem is how she'll react if she thinks that you no longer cut

What do you mean? Isn't better for her to think that I'm not cutting anymore than for her to know that I am?

Really? Mine kept silent about self harm but maybe it's different here in England. In all honestly I think either the note or telling your teacher the truth are your best options short of 'forgetting your kit'. Is there a big punishment for forgetting your kit? I mean, for me it's 3 kit marks and then an after school detention? If things don't work out you still have that to fall back on.

Your swimming kit, shorts or whatever. It's not like they can force you to jump in the pool if you don't have the appropriate clothes, hopefully.

No they can't. I can say I don't them because the teacher won't see them because the shorts are in my gym locker

I think you should only tell her as a last option. But when you do, if its come to that point, you can use some of that arguments.
