Question Is this OCD related

Hi, been so long since I've been on this site lol, anyway, to the point.

This is the first time I have been on the OCD forum and I've been reading about what people do, most of them I accually do, I did it since I was a child and I still do it now, like sometimes: I lay awake in bed and talk to myself, if I screw up on whatever I'm talking about I will HAVE to start again (sometimes it will take hours) or I will end up going crazy. Another one is I will be doing something then I would just get this terrible urge to get the thumb of both my hands, tap my index, middle, one after that (don't know what its called) and my little finger on both hands with my thumb... 5 times... Index to little back to index. 5 Times. I also have a bit of trouble with when I forget what something's called (example - the finger issue) or if I can't spell something or my punctuation is wrong I will flip.

Thanks anyway and please tell me what you think.

Much appreciated ~ Jay

This is not OCD. OCD is concerned with obsessions and compulsions linked with these obsessive thoughts. What you are describing sounds like a very mild form of autism.

No, no, not autism. that's a lack of verbal communication abilities and no social abilities. Not you.

The thing about true OCD (as differentiated from, say, being very anxious, or conscientious, etc.), is that the sufferer is driven by whatever the thoughts and behaviors are. They are tormented by them, they cannot control them at all, and they are really irrational.

If that sounds like you (and if there's a family history of OCD or mental illness) in your family, tell someone and see a doc. The good news about OCD is that there are now very effective treatments for it.

Trust me, it is not OCD. He is lacking in many symptoms.
I merely said a very mild form of autism because autism is often concerned with repetitive (and sometimes ritual) behaviours and tempers which are sparked by a prevention to carry these out.

I respect your opinion but you are only 14 and diagnosis is something that's done by a qualified professional. You can not diagnose someone you never interacted with only via the internet. Let's not jump to conclusions and at most we should refer the OP to a doctor that can do the diagnosis and come to a conclusion if it's OCD, another disorder, or nothing at all.
