Default where to get tested for add

Hi i really think that i have ADD because all of the symtoms match and I cannot stay on one topic. I can never read a full book and remember things. Things go in and go right out. I always get tired or think about something when i read. Im not doing too well in school because i forget alot of stuff. When i was smaller they moved me to a different class on reading because I coulndt concentrate. I would like to know where to get tested. Should it be in a small local hospital or a big hospital. Also where would I go in the hospital and where can i get information. I would like to test me out fast, i think it would help me out in the future. Its messing with me.

1. Do you have trouble siting still for a period of time?

2. Are you easly distracted by activity or noise around you?

3. Do you often feel restless or fidgety?

4. Do you day dream in the middle of things often?

5. Do you have difficultey in waiting you turn in situations?

6. Are you mostly unorganized with you things?

Here are some questions I can think of.

Remember that we can't diagnose you

Go see a psychiatrist. They prescribe things for this sort of stuff
Personally, I don't think you have ADD, but I'm not a doctor and nobody on this forum is so we can't tell you : /
Good luck

I don't have ADHD -
I can't read a book all the way through because I'm just that way...too hyper, too distracted and not interested
I day dream because I'm bored so sometimes my mind wonders
I read stuff over and over again and usually it's because I'm stressed or rushing and I need to go back to see it or I have to say it out loud in front of someone before I actually get it

Like I said, I think you don't have it because it would be very hard (not just "not being able to pay attention sometimes").
Anyways, my advice is to go to a GP or your doctor at a clinic. He can refer you to a psychiatrist if he sees it fit

Another old thread, but I thought I'd throw my $.02 into the fountain.

Although any competent mental health professional can attempt to diagnose ADHD, according to my dad the Shrink, only a Psychologist (or Neuropsychologist) can definitively diagnose it based on actual performance testing. he also says it is the most overdiagnosed condition on the planet, and in the history of humankind (probably sarcastically), as only 5% of the population really has it. That means that you have a 95% chance of NOT having it. (a lot of other things not neurologically related can cause a lack of focus, kinda like thinking that everytime you cough it's TB).
