Default Does It Ever Go Away?

So I had a few accidents when I was younger and it lead to major health issues. One, being extremely short sighted and another being diagnosed with ADD.

I was diagnosed when I was about 6 or 7 I think (I'm going to get the records out and post if I can find them). I missed a lot of school because of these really expensive psychiatry sessions. By the end, my parents were told they had two options:

1. Go on meds
2. Take lengthy after school tutoring.

My mum was strongly against the drugs, so decided to do it the hard way.

So fast forward to now and I'm curious after reading these posts if I ever did get over ADD. If its possible to get over it?

If it helps, I was shocking at Mathis, the worst subject and science was a no go. When I talk to someone, I sometimes miss bits of conversation, like I've just skipped some of what they're saying even if I'm talking one to one. It takes me a bit longer than normal to remember or learn things.

"hey we know the perfect solution to help him. Let's ignore him and pretend like he doesn't exist and hopefully he'll go away. But at the same time, we'll act like we're here to help people without judgement and prejudice.

Your parents made the better decision of the two and avoided the drugs. That decision, although maybe harder and longer, has probably made your life better in many aspects.

There is a way. How I treated it was using something called EEG Biofeedback, which has worked wonders for me. I strongly urge you to give it a go, as you'll probably be impressed.

Wow thanks Matrix! That's amazing. Where do you normally get these people who specialise in it?

Often times your doctor will be able to refer you to one. If that does not work, search for one in your area, use a directory such as this one, or even google it.

You might have possibly done a lot more for me with this than you think. I think I have somethings I still to get to grips with and it might help me tremendously.

A lot of people will have reduced symptoms as they grow older. I was diagnosed in the fifth grade and started to use meds and i have pretty much stopped taking them now because I have learned to work with it all

I think that somtimes the point of putting kids on the meds is so they can pay attention enough to learn the coping skills.

I am fully and 100% unique.
