Default Sports Forum!

jesus christ everyone, please.

that forum would fucking rule and so many people here are involved in sports.

it would be as helpful and interesting as the depression and eating disorder forums.

the sports forum would go under General Discussions

there would be polls, athletic training questions, favorite team debates...
EVERYTHING UNDER THE EYE OF ATHLETICS!

i'm serious though, every day that i come here, i wish that we had a sports forum. so many teens are active in sports and it could help them out a lot.

seriously, the Senior Staff should highly consider creating this within the next week.

I"m a sports addict and I would use it, but I don't think it would get enough traffic.

This has been suggested many times, there was a sports diary but I don't think it exsists any more.

In other words, no, use TWPR or create a diary.

Right this has been brought up a lot. I am going to put a Poll on this, then we can see what the consensus is about a Sports Forum.

we have gone through this many times, its been voted against it at least 4 times. a diary is fine. we really dont need any more forums under general discussion. the white padded room should do fine.

Agreed. If it was really needed (like the VT Chronicle) we'd see a whole bunch more posts about the topic or relating to the forum needed (just like what happened with the Chronicle).
Sorry guys, I have to go against it

Diaries really don't get much attention as general forums do.

I don't think so, GovGaming is more of a forum for arcade and computer games, not phsyical sports.
+They don't have a forum for sports anyways

GovGaming isn't for sports and either way, what is done over there shouldn't have any affect over here.

I say no.

I think you guys are trying to branch waaaay far out, this place is called The Psychiatric Ward. I also think that many people are forgetting that, condensing the actual illness forums and adding new General Discussion forums, soon there isn't going to be anything that has to do with mental illnesses anymore.

Also, how much traffic could a Sports Forum possibly get?

Majority of our members now don't have mental illnesses so that's why the majority of our members aren't concerned in those parts of the site, rather than puberty or any of the gen. discussions. If we focused on the psyc ward alone this site would be dead.

Of course, but if we have a sports forum, what stops us from having lawn & gardening forum, or a automotives forum?

The idea has come up a lot, but I think both the VT Chronicle and the diary Sports Center should be used for sports announcements and sports discussion rather than a forum dedicated to it.

The Chronicle is already used for sports news and people do talk about it there. That's actually becoming more popular! =]

What stops us is the lack of interest in those subjects to create a forum. If the sports forum doesn't have a lot of interest then it shouldn't be created but if there is, then it should at least be given a chance to try out.

Why should we create another major forum for a topic when the threads and discussions aren't even posted in regularly in the diary for that topic?

I just don't think we should compare a diary to a general forum. A diary is lost in between the index and isn't noticeable. A lot of people ignore the diary section.

I just think the topic would be brought up more in threads rather than suggestions.

The idea of a 'sports' forum sounds crusty.

If in fact a sports forum gets made and gets enough traffic (more than the Art Room), I think it should be somewhat like GovTeen - Sports and Fitness. That way, when the sports seasons take their breaks, we can still offer a support system. We could talk about weight training or dieting.

But then again, isn't that what we tried to do for the Eating Disorders forum? Well, I guess the bottom of that idea fell out too.
