Default locked threads :(

my question:
why get threads locked when the op gets banned?

i think this threads have nothing to do with the rules to ban the op,
the thread can be also interesting for others

sorry for my bad english, but i don´t understand this when in a nice thread stands:
"OP is banned - locked"

It's often because the thread is specific to the OP and once they're banned, it's no longer relevant or helpful - the OP can no longer see the responses. If you thought the thread was helpful, you're welcome to remake it.

Usually it is locked for personal questions, surveys/polls, and those in that relevance. It is because the OP can no longer post on he thread.
But for non-personal questions like "Why", "How", and "Is it", those sometimes can be kept.
