Unhappy I still sound 10...

I recently turned 14 and and somewhere in Tanner stage 2.5-3.5 in puberty and my voice still sounds like a 10 year old voice. I'm heading to highschool next time i start school and I'm concerned on when it will change... Although sometimes when i sing a note my voice gets kind of raspy, it used to not do that.

My voice used to be squicky as hell at the beginning of high school but like at year 8 my voice started to break and now I get called batman by mates. Noone really cares about the sound of your voice noone said anything to me about it at the time. So dont worry

No need to worry. When you start school, there will be many kids going through the same things and you'll just be one of the many.

It means your vocal cords are changing, just not in a way that is noticeable when you speak

Don't worry about it too much, people progress differently, I remember people didn't believe I was the same person after my voice drop and growth spurt (6 inches!) from 8th to 9th Grade.

Sadly that won't happen to me, only 2-3 weeks till HIghschool. It's good to know that they are changing but not good that its slowly, but oh well. It also isnt all the time that i cant keep a note, and when i cant it just sounds raspy

If it makes you feel better i'm 15 1/2 and still have a really high voice xD

It's started cracking though, so I think it's about to break. Some people have told me it's gotten deeper over the last year but I can't hear much difference.

Just give it a year or too. You seem to be a "late bloomer".

If this means anything, I remember in high school there were two guys I knew who had gotten really big and were probably the biggest kids in the class, but they both had really high pitched voices. It made no sense, and those two had voices that sounded like twelve year olds well into senior year. There was this other kid who honestly looked like he was twelve years old almost until the end of high school, but his voice was super deep by freshman year. My point is that puberty makes no sense, but in the end of the day everyone ends up in the same place.
