It’s very possible. You’ll probably feel a lot of different thing the next few years due to puberty and development. If you’re having cramps then I would say that your period is probably in the near future. There are several reasons that your vagina may be swollen so that not an absolute sign in itself

Yeah, those are def signs that something is happening with hormonal changes. You might not get your period the first month that you get those symptoms though. As I think back I had similar stuff going on for a while before my first period came around my 11th birthday. And whenever you do start, don't expect things to be regular for several months afterward. There's also a time nearer the middle of our cycle when some of us girls get unusual, possibly uncomfortable feelings inside, related to ovulation.

We've all done that with panties. My mum has some detergent stuff called vanish and you soak them in that overnight and then put them in the wash the next day and they will be ok

It works because of the flavonoids (a type of antioxidant) in the chocolate, which is in a higher concentration in darker chocolate.

But also because of magnesium content which alleviates the cramps if you suffer from cramping badly, which varies per woman. Some are lucky and donít cramp to bad.

Then theirs the endorphins chocolate contains which directly improves mood and positive emotions.

So yeah thatís the science explained if anybody was interested.

Hiya Tessa, l think your mum could be right, Mine didn't start to I turned 13, and i was 15 whe they started to settle down.
Even then I never had real bad cramps, and I hope it stayed thar way.
Yea your vulva looking a bit swollen could be to do with your period. But it could be something else that you should go to your Doctor, It's better to be safe than sorry.
I hope all goes well for you.

Yes I have noticed those parts looking bigger around the time of my period, on more than one occasion. But my tummy and hips swell more from water weight gain, every single month. I can often count on my hips being as much as a full inch fuller and I can see my tummy is bigger in the mirror! I usually gain anywhere from 2-4 pounds and sometimes as much as 5 pounds but then I'm bigger to start with.

I can def see the water weight gain when I try to zip my jeans.........

I have similar symptoms before my period except for the swelling down there. Your mother could well be right.
