Default Dyatlov pass incident.

Evening everyone.
A month ago, Russian Prosecutor's Office re-opened oneof the most loudest and most (in)famous hiking incidents of 20th century for further investigation after 60 years. I wanted to hear your opinion on this matter and your versions of what kind of terrifying things took the place that time there.

Why? We all know that was aliens. (Yes that was sarcasm)

I think its great they want to try again to solve the case, who knows maybe by using modern technology they might find out what happened

From what I have read, there are numerous explanations of what happened to the hikers in the Urals. But, IMHO, I would say that the Soviet military may have been the culprits as they may have been conducting military exercises in that area with artillery and parachute mines. Unfortunately, the hikers were caught up in this exercises and tried to flee. When they were discovered dead by Soviet authorities, these authorities did not want to implicate the military in this tragedy. So, the authorities just covered it up and no one ever questioned that decision until now. This is just my feelings on what really happened.

As I understand it, it was likely a case of avalanche, paradoxical undressing (when people get so cold they feel hot and undress) and exposure to the elements and nature. Things like the radiation where exaggerated or don't show up in the original accounts. Over the years, people have taken parts and speculated and added stuff and then other people take that as fact and then speculate and add to that and so on so it looks weirder than it really was.

Latest research expedictions proved that avalanche was not a cause nor animals and paradoxical undressing. Researchers have come to a conclusion that it was all staged up by USSR millitary - hikers either parcipiated to secret government program or were witnesses of secret government experiment and they were exposed to some sort of chemicals.

When someone is freezing, skin to skin contact is the best and fastest way to warm up

Yup as Wikipedia says:

Quote:
Twenty to fifty percent of hypothermia deaths are associated with paradoxical undressing. This typically occurs during moderate and severe hypothermia, as the person becomes disoriented, confused, and combative. They may begin discarding their clothing, which, in turn, increases the rate of heat loss.

I listened to a podcast about this recently. I have no idea what happened, but it is a crazy strange story.

Oooh. Love me a good podcast. The main mystery one that I've been listening to is https://unresolved.me/ but I don't think he's done one on Dyatlov Pass yet. I hope he does because he's usually pretty level-headed and doesn't exaggerate or go off on wild theories.
