Default Do you need to?

I know that many people need to come out to feel good about themselves or for other reasons. However do you think Bi/gay people should have to come out? It seems to cause so much stress for everybody and it's not like straight people have to inform others of their sexuality. I'm personally not that worried about telling people, if they want to know they can ask. The kind of people you like shouldn't matter to friends if they're true friends. I just think that there's to much importance carried by a persons sexuality which shouldn't be a defining part of why you are close (or not) to the people you are.

Do you agree/disagree?

I don't think you should have to come out but it definitely seems a better way in my opinion.

All night long yo!

Depends how far "out" you already are, i.e if you turn up at a family house at Christmas with a boyfriend without telling anyone I think it could be a bit of a shock. I think atleast telling your friends is a good idea, to be honest it let me feel alot better about myself, so I could be my normal self without having to pretend i'm this really straight guy anymore, it was a weight off my shoulders to say the least.
But it depends on you, if you feel that that's the best way to deal with it, then go for it, but i'd definately tell close friends
That's just my opinion anyway

18, so been there done that.
Very straight acting Bi guy, so also been there done that

Recovering from a pretty nasty motorbike accident so trying to get all my contacts together again, sorry to those who've messaged me but I haven't replied.
Ask any questions or whatever I check in quite often.

Exactly. Coming out is important because the truth is going to come out sooner or later, and when you tell someone you're more prepared for the potential reaction.

I told my best friend last year because I have always been honest with him. It's actually made our friendship stronger, since I could trust him with such a huge secret.

What's funny is that he knows I am attracted to him, but he just plays it off.

The next step is telling my mom. I don't need to do it, but it's better that she hears it from me instead of someone else.

Suck my fat one, you cheap dime store hood!

people don't really need to know, but it helps for people to know if you want a chance at a relationship, if everyone is hiding their sexuality, how are you ment to find someone?

Life isn't worth living if you doubt what your feelings are.

Inspiation is everywhere, it just takes a keen eye to find it.

I think most people choose to actively "come out" because they're afraid of what other people close to them will think, so they kinda just want to see how everyone feels and tell them so they will know. I guess the biggest reason is because people are looking for approval or emotional support. They're tired of living a lie...

I don't think you should come out all the way. I told a few of my closer friends, but they're the only ones who know, apart from my girlfriend. When someone at school finds out or something, I don't take it well. THEY don't take it well.
