so recently, I went on a weekend trip and man I just ate everything I saw. i came home and I look in the mirror every time I go to the bathroom and think, "omg I'm so fat I need to loose weight." but then in the next breath, I'm eating 2 pb&j sandwhiches. then a day or two later, I realize how fat I am and get close to starving myself. please help. any suggestions?

btw, I don't throw up. it's just bingeing

Eat a big breakfast. Force yourself if you have to. Drink lots of water. Throughout the day, not all at once. I also think you should have well planned meals and/or healthy snacks to keep you full. By eating regularly and not being on an empty stomach, you can regulate how much you eat. If you are on an empty stomach, when you eat something your body is going to be extra hungry and will try to catch up on what its missed. So the best way to prevent or regulate binge eating is to stay on a full stomach.

Well I wouldn't really call eating 2 sandwiches a binge eating disorder...
And lots of people tend to eat more when they go on vacation...that's why vacations are so great. Again, going a little overboard for one weekend isn't really binge eating.

Just remember that food is good for you. Food is what gives your body the energy it needs to function. Take a break and just try to start back eating in moderation. Make sure to have balanced meals....and having a healthy snack or two during the day is not out of the question if you're hungry. And how about developing an exercise routine instead of starving yourself. Treating food as an enemy is often the first sign you're going down the road to developing an eating disorder.

Also, find someone to talk to. Your mom, a relative, or even a doctor...there's nothing wrong with explaining to someone you want to be a healthier person and asking for help.

I know that, but I've noticed at night that I'll totally binge. like bad. the bingeing has just gotten worse recently. my dad seems to have a night snack binge also. but mine is much worse and it's all kinds of really bad junk food.

well i don't really know what else to tell you... stop? is that really going to make you stop? probably not. How about switching to something healthier? Like a bowl of cereal or a banana. Having a late night snack isn't the ultimate sin. There's nothing I can do to magically make you change your mind or your habits, I'm just giving advice. If you want to change, you have to do that on your own.

I don’t know I’ve been doing a similar thing and I really don’t know how to help. Since your aware of what your doing try to be mindful if your bingeing and try to stop, same goes for if your not eating. If that doesn’t work maybe talk to a therapist.

I feel sorry for you. I struggle with the same pretty much, during the night the hunger possesses me, and I have to eat. Sometimes I can resist, or detract my attention from my hunger to something more interesting, but many times I give up, and eat something. But if you really want to, only eat some light food, e.g. an apple, orange, a cereal bar or biscuit, and all like that. This saved me many times from eating more..
(Sorry about my amateur English.)

Isabella -- you lost weight recently, didn't you? How did you do that?

Isabella and Niky -- If you have a friend you can text when you feel like that, you can distract yourself and they can try to help you resist.

I'm having a great time here. I'm open to chat, too.

So it must be different now. Like now you're getting the urge to binge.
