Default Drum and bass?

Does anyone here like it? Personally, I'm a big fan, but it seems to be a genre that isn't highly recognised.

I just want to know if there are any other fans out there! lol

For those of you who don't know what drum and bass is, here a few band pages of drum and bass artists:

Spor

Pendulum (Listen to Blood Sugar )

Enjoy! x

Drum and Bass is a huge underground scene, I fucking love it!
Possibly my fave genre, If you wanna hear some decent drum and bass then check out the likes of Baron, Adam F, DJ Hype, Pendulum, Chase and Status, Commix, Probe and Sylo etc.
While pendulum are AWESOME, you cannot call yourself a drum and bass fan if they are the only artist you listen to.

Do you like Matrix & Futurebound? I really want their new album

To be honest, my favourite music tastes are more a mix of drum and bass, breakbeat and electro, rather than solely drum and bass.

Drum and Bass isn't underground, hell half the stuff you named is considered mainstream Drum and Bass. Electronica itself is considered underground. Now if you were to name local D&B artists, THAT is underground.

For example, Dj Bowzer, greatest local I've ever heard, he plays Happy D&B. You can download his sets if you want.

The difference between main stream, and underground.

If you download a "song" and it's between 2-10 minutes. The person is trying to be a producer mainstream D&B artist. If you download something that's 50 minutes plus, they're a D&B Dj, and undergrounddd.

Pendulum is alright, same with DJ Hype, I find it hard to get into something shorter than 20 minutes.
Drum & Bass is good to dance to though at raves/clubs.

While there is drum and bass that is considered more mainstream, generally it is an underground scene and you can't argue with that.
You can't classify someone as mainstream solely based on their set/song lengths. All DnB artists will most probably have sets of 30mins+ available, yet many will also have individual songs up. Its a mix and carries a very different scene to most other genres.

True, but when Pendulum is played on the radio, it's hard to call it underground.

and yeah ok pendulum are probably the most mainstream drum and bass artist around, but the scene on the whole is underground. Just big names like Pendulum, Andy C, Dillinja, Shy FX etc have started to make it big.

All depends on your definition of underground. I consider acid breakbeats underground, because I doubt anyone on this forum has ever heard the name. If more than 5 people on a site not dedicated to it, have heard of, it's not underground. Pendulum holds MASSIVE concerts, I think that alone makes it not underground because now people are researching the smaller bands.

Also, one of my city's famous promoters said it best with
"Pendulum is Jungle for white people."
