Sounds like some military camp. Do they yell "Attention" before dinner and "Right shoulder knife... Left shoulder fork" too?

My parents do not put pressure on me to say "sir" og "mom". Nor would the most strict teacher at my school. It sounds a little out there

Could it be something about your brother better coping with things around him, if there are strict lines?

Sounds like she has a huge amount of stress and trying not to be under pressure by eliminating everything under the sun.
And reading all the posts about your family life, I see why she is under pressure. However it's really not fun for anybody

yeah...when I was like 8. I leaned to just do it automatic, until I figured out on my own when it was appropriate and when it wasn't.

I generally don't get/need to be ordered to do a lot but even if I am I of course don't have to respond that way. It's just silly! Do you know why they insist on it?

Fifteen, Twin.
Feel free to PM and or add me.

That's pretty messed up! I don't address them for everything I say to them. I say "Good morning, mom" and "good night, mom", and of course if I call on any of them, it would be weird to say "Hey, you!". I say "thanks, mom" if I get something I really appreciate, like a birthday present or whatever, but otherwise I'm allowed to talk normally. Tbh, I think it would drive them nuts as well if I say "mom" after every phrase.

Give me pizza covered in pineapple. Give me burgers loaded with pickles. Give me a steak burned to rubber and drowned in ketchup. I'll eat it all and sing hallelujah. But I'm begging you. Please don't serve me tuna. I'm a human being, not a cat.

I guess every parent has their basic rules about things that bug them.
I am lucky that since I am adopted they have had to getv used to me as a teenager and so haven't had to relearn how to treat me once i stopped being really little.
