That may be the end of the world as we know it but not really the end of the world.

That's what Abraham's dad said when they made the tribe's weather god a god of war. And today this god is worshiped in three religions.

Fuck all the doomsayers and lets have a party instead.

The book of Revelation

Essentially, the seven trumpets will blow and God's wrath will be cast upon non-believers and those who believe will go to the new heaven and new earth. Satan (the dragon) will be destroyed for his sins and everything will become as God intended

From the South. I'm a dude.

The end.

And then God realized he created man in his own image. And because he liked his reflection [in the mirror], he simply called off doomsday.

Amen!

I am convinced that the Earth will cease to become inhabitable by humans through a combination of natural disasters and man-made ignorance, greed and plain stupidity.

In fact I was brought up as a religious person, but I am very sorry to say that I believe we humans have left it too late to save the planet, even with possible Divine help.

Personally I believe that a weaponized strain of influenza will wipe out 99% of the population and the remaining one percent will be drawn into a cosmic battle of good and evil between God himself and The man in black, Randell Flagg.

That would be in millions of years. Man will have destroyed the planet way before that

Yeah the world will be uninhabitable but it will still exist most likely. If ur talking about like the end of the world for humans we got thirty years tops

Cool Story Bro, but Left Behind got a bit boring after the third novel.

Men are selfish and always look for innovative ways to destroy and kill people, when one God's basic rule is 'you shall not kill'
So if God created men in his own image, obviously something went wrong...

It is you shall not murder. Killing in itself is not banned.
Killing someone and murdering someone are two completely different things.
One can kill accidentally. One can kill out of necessity like in self defense or in war. This is use of violence/deadly force to protect greater good like someones life or your own life.

Murdering anyhow is another thing. Murderer has possibility to not to commit murder without risking his/her own life. Thats how it usually goes. But then there are so called grey areas. example being someone murders someone because he is forced to do it by keeping his family or loved ones as captives or any similar case.
Execution of criminal is murder by state committed by some random prison guard/cop/soldier.

Being selfish is actually good thing in itself like business man who creates business that benefits humanity. When taken to extreme it becomes bad thing.

In the end, the victim is dead. doesen't matter if it happend by murder or killing someone by accident, on purpuse, for self defense or the greater good.

And about that selfish thing and business man example ... overthink it. Most of the stuff that is sold may seemingly be useful, but only the business folk will really benefit from it. And the aftermaths will be paid by all.

And who really thinks, eg, that cars are like that, should be best sent to an asylum for lunatics. Coz long terms, this invention only causes problems. Especially the future generations will pay, because those biz-men now refuse to invest properly in future more green tech.

So baker making bread and selling it also must be causing massive problems cause people dont die for hunger and therefore can reproduce. Right
And business is and has been investing to cleaner tech pretty long. Greener tech anyway is most usually not affordable or if it is affordable its fiercely opposed by green people.

Bakers aren't the prob or even the topic. That example is a brought up usual one and therefore kinda pathetic. The really threat is the industrial production of food or the industrial mass production in general.

But in summary, everything culminates in greed and selfishness. Both must be limited by ourselves. Only when we accept that life liven as we know it nowadays must have strict limits, so life can exist and develop long terms, only then we are really what we pretend to be: rational, thinking and acting beings. And the way to get there will be a very long and tedious journey.

We need to develop from a society of pure consumers to a society that truly lives sustainability. And that means, in my opinion, that our lives can only be one-tenth (or even less) as luxurious as it has evolved over the past 120 years.
