Is a camera female gender in German?
If not, you should refer to it with male pronouns. After all, a camera is versatile, useful, valuable and rugged. Though it can be delicate, fickle and sensitive at times .

Yes, the camera is feminine in German - Die Kamera
Also video or TV camera is feminine.
But if you use the word "Fotoapparat" (translated also as Camera) - than it is masculine
Der Fotoapparat.

is actually quite simply the German language

I was legitimately interested if it was female gender. But I hope you realize the second part of my comment was meant tongue in cheek.
