Default Submit to blackmail?

A while ago I told someone I self harmed...
And a few days ago, he had a huge falling out with my mom. He has threatend me & my mom, made hate pages on facebook about us, and got some friends to send me & my mom hate messages.
But thats not all
A few days before we lent him a very expensive jacket for a horse show, worth more than 1000. Today he messaged me telling me he would tell the world about my self harm and that he wouldnt return the jacket unless I got 600 for him. There would also be a bit of ''trouble'' for me if we diddnt. Mom knows everything apart from the self harm and ''trouble'' part of the blackmail. We cant afford 600 and Im so scared. I dont know what to do because he might hurt me...Please somebody help me!!! This isnt my best friend I know!! Somethings gone wrong in his head!!

~
Trying to break free.

This is a crime.. Therefore you must talk to a Federal Crime Agency (e.g. FBI)
NEVER take justice by your own hands... Tell what happened to the cops as soon as you can...

It's not where you're from, it's where you're going.

Heh. As if the police will do anything. Half the time they will ignore you, the other half they will make it worse.

Not always. If this kid is doing things like this it sounds like he needs some sort of kick up the ass to stop, cause he's getting way too above his station. I think involving the authorities would be a good idea. The first thing to do though is to be honest with your mother that you have had a problem with self harm in the past, because this way you'll be able to do whatever necessary to stop the problem.

Never submit to blackmail. Call the police, as threatening people like that is a severe crime. Never ever attempt to sort that kind of things out privately, as that kind of guy never gets enough and will continue to threaten you afterwards.

By submitting to blackmail, you are giving blackmailers an incentive to continue blackmailing, so I'd get this sorted out quickly with the authorities.

Admitting I was gay to myself took a long time. Once I was past that step, I realized that not everyone would accept me. But its not about them. Its about me, living my life as theperson I really am.
