Unhappy Re: triggers.

Shouting people
Children laughing or crying
My sisters laughter
People touching my legs, waist, neck or wrists
Family photos
The smell of alcohol
The song "these noises"
Irish Spring bar soap
Knives
Ambulences
Being in a closet
Pools
and people standing behind me.

I know what you mean. Actually, NIN is a good trigger for me. Why? Because while I was growing up in those horrible situations, the music actually was the only thing I could relate to and make me feel better. That's kind of why I idolize Trent Reznor. I feel like his music has really gotten me threw my childhood.

When you say uTorrent, don't be surprised. Many people have strange triggers. Certain smells will make my mind go blank sometimes.

My trigger list is very long. I don't think it ever ends. But my main ones are when someone mentions "the word", The Cure (Every time I hear one of there songs I just want to slit my fucking neck), Pictures of me as a kid, bruisings on people.

Anyone do strange things while they're in that post-trigger mode? Like where after a trigger happens they start doing things? I draw lots of half moons and eyes after my triggers.

yeah i tend to either self harm, but i havent done that in a while, and i try not to. if i have one while at school, i'll start shading the corners of the paper in front of me.

i'm not sure if all of it is really abuse, more neglect, and just watching my mum destroy herself, but kind of a bit of abuse here and there.

my triggers are:
seeing vodka behind a counter at a shop.
watching people drinking vodka.
when anyone mentions the word 'suicide'.
kids that look sad.
when people take the piss out of alcoholics.
flats that are at least a floor up.
bathrooms that look similar to my mums old one.
ambulance sirens.
almost everytime my step dad gives me an angry look.
people telling me everything will be ok.
sitting in the car for more than 20 seconds outside a cinema (dont ask).

thats all i can think of right now.

edit: sometimes when i get bored my mind wonders, and i randomly have a flashback.

When anyone raises there arms/hands in a fast manner, hands coming near my face, I dont really like people being behind me, sex, sometimes nothing triggers it, it just pops out.

I wasn't abused per say, just neglected. Watched my mom spiral down, and then I began to spiral down, too...anyway;

I can't stand being hugged or touched in general. I seize up and usually start literally clawing to get my way out, even if that person was just being friendly. I really don't know why either, I just do. Even when my Dad or my closest friends try to hug me.

Yelling and loud noises, people screaming or shouting in anger. My parents getting mad, seeing old family photos, someone with a belt in hand and people touching me when i don't expect it...
Police or ambulance sirens, people who work in hospitals, people talking about suicide/self harm or abuse.

if that's being avoided, drawing shit. Usually it's some of the more child-like drawings from me, and i don't show people that stuff.

Hands coming toward my face.
Hands near my neck/shoulder/upper torso.
Yelling.
My sister crying and begging.
Doors..(if they're open)
Some water areas.

There's more; but I dont have the time to list them.

I understand that, in a way.

As for some more triggers;
SAW movies,
small animals,
garter snakes,
dark shrubs in the middle of nowhere.
