Default Cleaning

Ok, i'm pretty sure i don't have OCD, my problem is i can often find myself wasting a lot of time because when i clean something i cant leave i alone unless its absolutely perfect. For example if i am cleaning my room an i clean the whole thing but realize a drawer has not been checked to make sure it is neat i HAVE to check it and clean it. Even my closet Must be perfectly organized before i can allow myself to stop cleaning. I also get stressed out because sometimes ill be nice and clean for my mom and she is the kind of person who feels as long as a mess is hidden you have cleaned, so she has many junk drawers and she doesn't want anything in them moved but if i clean and am finished those spots haunt me and stress me out.. as if everything i have done was a waste because the room still isn't clean...I have also caught myself checking the door multiple times before i leave in fear i have forgotten to lock it or it somehow didn't lock properly and when i lock my moms car i must push the button 4 times. I often find myself counting my steps on the way to school or wherever i am walking, and i feel uneasy if i step on the cracks. For some reason i also feel the need to only have 2 steps per square on the sidewalk, so i often find myself irritated when the sidewalk square is to large for me to pass in 2 steps. I don't know what this is or why i do these things. I find when i am more depressed i do them more often though, except the cleaning one that is constant no matter what but the other tend to be worse when i am upset about something.

Well you do have some of the common OCD symptoms.
Here are some of the symptoms I thought matched what you were saying.

Checking Compulsions

Repeatedly checking to see if a door is locked or an appliance is turned off
Checking to make certain one has not harmed someone (for example, driving around and around the block to see if anyone has been run over)
Checking and rechecking for mistakes (such as when balancing a checkbook)
Checking associated with bodily obsessions (such as repeatedly checking oneself for signs of a catastrophic disease)

Compulsions about Having Things Just Right

The need for symmetry and total order in one's environment (for example, the need to line up canned goods in the pantry in alphabetical order, to hang clothes in the exact same spot in the closet every day, or to wear certain clothes only on certain days)
The need to keep doing something until one gets it "just right"

Repetitive Rituals

Repeating routine activities for no logical reason
Repeating questions over and over
Rewording or rewriting words or phrases

There is a lot you can do for OCD and I think going to the doctor and talking about it would be a first good step to getting this sorted out.
Of course I am not a doctor so I can not diagnose you or anything but I would suggest seeing your doctor.
Good Luck!

!!! There are others out there who do the sidewalk thing!!!

*ahem*

It sounds very much like you have some form of OCD. Michael has supplied the symptoms, and I think you can see from looking at it.

Have you talked to anyone about it? I think that would be a very good first step for you. Talk to someone you know and trust, and maybe try to see a school counselor. They can be a great help and should not be overlooked, especially if you don't want someone to know about it. They may be able to provide you with information on it, and if they see fit you really should think about getting to a doctor.

Hope things go well.

Your forum picture... Grr...

And, honestly, it does seem like you have OCD. Good luck, you should really speak to a doctor. Keep yourself clean.
