Default Linux Users?

Anyone here use a Linux OS for their computers? I'm just curious.

I use OpenSuse 42.2 for my school laptop. It is my dad's old laptop, probably around 8 years old and has memory problems. Because of that, it can't support any recent version of Windows without being very slow. That's why I'm using Linux for it, since it can actually run on that computer at a usable speed. And because I'm too cheap to go out and buy a new laptop.

Not sure if this counts, but I have a VM running Ubuntu, although I haven't used it for a really long time, so I imagine it's due for quite the number of updates by now.

I'm currently in the process of switching my laptop over from Windows Server 2016 to a dual boot setup with Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and Windows 10 (I might do 8.1, I don't know). I really enjoy using both Linux Mint and Ubuntu.

I've tried it though not as my main system. I installed a 'Debian' Linux as a secondary boot on my laptop. It is working fine, but it needs some re-learning to get how everything work. I had so far little issues with it, and installed Steam on it, so most of the games I own work on it.

I've used various distributions of Linux. Mainly I run them through virtual machines but I have dual booted an old laptop of mine with Windows 7 and an old version of Ubuntu. I haven't used it in a while though as I mainly use my macbook nowadays.

I used to use it on my desktop several years ago, but desktop Linux is kinda trash right now so I avoid it.
My university makes us do all of our CS assignments on their Linux servers, so I use it quite frequently.

Other than that I still use Win7 (on the same computer I used when I first joined this forum, in fact...)
Next computer I buy will probably be a Macbook

I use Ubuntu 16.04 on my server (which is hosted at home) and it's a nearly 10 year old machine, breathing new life as a Linux machine!

I went cold turkey from Windows 10 to Linux several months ago. After a lot of consideration, I initially picked Manjaro because it would offer me a minor challenge while still being easy to use. I felt like I actually owned my system and everything. Recently I switched over to Antergos/Arch and I like it a lot better. I have to do a little bit of work and I get to use the terminal fairly often which I really enjoy.
@Fritz Linux is generally used as a catch-all term for unix-like operating systems and operating systems based on the Linux kernel. There is a distribution of Linux for nearly everyone. It has a philosophy behind it and it outperforms Windows in almost every way except for compatibility. Linux is comprised of FOSS, free and open software. This makes it all a lot more trustworthy, and considering that most distributions are not made for the money but are rather created with passion, they turn out a lot better than Windows. When you use a Linux distro you actually get to own your computer and have a lot more privacy. There is a lot more to it, but Google (or DuckDuckGo) is a good place to begin.

On my desktop PC I dual-boot Windows 10 with openSUSE LEAP 42.3.
I've been trying to figure out what kernel IBM/Toshiba's 4690 OS is based off, because I want to learn how to program POS applications.

I have thought about it, there's a lot to choose from. Seems Windows 10 invades your privacy too much, so when my current PC goes, I might try Linux.

I am using Ubuntu Mate on my laptop right now. I got it from my girlfriend because she doesn't need it anymore. I have no motivation to update Windows 10 so I am using Linux. I wait for version 1803 and download an ISO-file to install it.
It might be possible that I keep using Ubuntu Mate here. I dont't know.
