Default An idea from xda

Xda forums have this awesome system search when it searches past threads to see some of any relevance. This could become handy for these forums too as many of the same threads I see have already been said before. It's good because it could possibly cut down on dupliucate threads, and probably because if we had this, and this suggestion had already been said, I wouldn't have said it now in this thread.

Yes, they use vBulletin too.

Well, even if VT added this, what makes you think people will use it and not just post anyway?

The problem I see with this is where it says "last post", they're all very old threads. This would lead to a ton of bumped threads.

Always here to help. Don't hesitate to PM me.

I mean, that's the point. The last post shows people if it's old or not.

I'm sure most people will still post, but it's still something that could cut back on the amount.

So does every single thread that gets bumped . But it still happens more than it should. This is basically just opening the door even wider to let it happen.

Well, I suppose we'll have to disagree on that, then.
But I still think it's a good idea.

This seems like it could get some use out of it. I vote yes, but (sadly) it's not my decision. Best of luck to you getting this instated!

Stop, that tickles!

Bump.
I've found the plugin, it might be worth the Admins to have a look at. I know it probably won't be implemented, but you could still have a look.

Hmmm I dont think so.

I spend time on the Horseandhound forum and if I search for info, presuming i find a similar thread with replies,i'll just have a little read and gain info from that. I wont add the that thread.

However a) A site like this, problems are far more individual so maybe there would never be a person in the exact same situation.

Secondly; whats the problem with more threads? Isnt that kinda what keeps the site alive?

Can you put an automatic lock on threads that havent been posted in after 6 months or whatever?
xx

It wasn't a suicide attempt,it was an escape from everything awful. When we cut,we're in control. We make our pain, and we can stop it whenever we want.Physical pain relieves mental anguish. For a brief moment, the pain of cutting is the only thing in the cutter's mind, and when that stops and the other pain comes back, its weaker.Drugs do that too,and sex. But not like cutting.Nothing is like cutting

Nope, if the original poster of the thread wants to open their topic again because it has become relevant again, or the problem has resurfaced, they are allowed to bump their own thread.
