Smile Eating and eating and eating....!!!!

I'm 16, tall and thin, the problem with me is that I can eat a lot, but really, A LOT and nothing happens to me, I'm afraid that if I still eat in that way when I will be grown up I can get fat!!!

In my family my mother is robust and my father is as thin as me.

What can I do???? Is there a genetic relation in this???

Live your day as it would be the last one.

I'm not the best, but I know I can be...

You just have a fast metabolism (cant spell I hope I spelled right) but it will slow down at a time or might stay the same. Just keep 3 meals a day and healthy snacks and you will not get fat.

High metabolism. Get your thyroid checked if you have not already, it may be overactive, if not, you're just one of those people who have a high metabolism. It just means you process calories faster, burn it off quicker, therefore chances of you gaining/storing weight/fat are lower than those with a less speedy metabolism than you. You will need to eat more though with a high metabolism. Some people slow down as they get older, some stay the same. Either way, keep eating, everything in moderation, good healthy stuff, it'll be fine.

Just enjoy it while you can When I was younger, I ate whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted.... but now it has started to catch up with me.. I now need to eat a lot less, more healthily AND do a lot of exercise. Make sure you eat healthy things as well and do some exercise and it shouldn't catch up with you too much. Just don't let it get out of control.. keep an eye on your weight

This could be generic or pure luck but it may catch up with you as you get older.

Just cut down on how much you eat, try to have a good breakfast, medium size lunch and a small dinner. This is what you need per day, if you feel hungry, grab a piece of fruit, this fills you up more and helps your digestion flow. Drink lots of water, this flushes any fat away from the stomach and down to the intestines ready to dispose of.

Also, try to excercise as much as you can.

I'm going to diagree with this advice - your body knows how much it wants to weigh, and it is a scientifically well-documented fact that pretty much whatever you eat, your body will stay within 15% of the weight it wants to maintain... and this is especially true of thin people. Cutting down the amount of food you eat can mess with your metabolism in ways that are not fun at all - I came out of eating disorder recovery with a higher set-point weight than I had to start out, and a greater predisposition to lay down abdominal fat.

What's important is to eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full; eat nutritious, whole foods; most importantly, not to drive yourself insane obsessing about food.

"You are what you eat" is fallacy. You are an organism which happens to have digestion as a metabolic process - like breathing.

You probably have a slow metabolism. Or an underactive thryoid. If it's the latter, get medication for it to level it back to normal. Same for vice versa, overactive thyroid.

genetics could be a factor but if your active like play sports or excersize alot then you can eat anything i play rugby, football, and sigma (greek sport in america) and i can come home from practice and eat my weight (215) or more and not gain an oz. so think of that hope this helped

some people live to eat and some eat to live. I eat to live. eating more is very harmful for the health. It is the cause of the over weight and many other stomach problems.
