Default Social Phobia

Is there anyone who has or had a social phobia? I do not like people, I'm in a foreign country and when i Will be 18 I have to find work, talk to people and speak in a foreign language I do not know well... I don't know what to do. (Sorry if my English is Bad).

I understand, I have a similar dislike of such situations. For now, just push the envelope, go to a public place, speak in that alternate language to someone who is a friend, get confidence in your own abilities and skill and then venture further and further out of your shell.

Hi Raphaellium,

It's sad to hear that, but the first thing I should tell and you should know is that you are not alone. You could try to find a friend with who you can practice your English skills, maybe another foreigner too.

Another thing you can do is speaking with yourself in the mirror and you can give yourself this way a feedback. If the talking idea doesn't suit you, maybe you can try writing instead. Keep a journal or start a blog and experiment new things.

If you are in school, you can always go for free to the school counsellor and he/she can help you overcome this.
