There is some enthusiasm here! I'll answer your questions and whenever you remember the others I'll answer them too.

1. Why did you join VT?
I've been looking for a nice internet forum to simply hang out and debate in. I visited numerous other forums, but they were either dead, dying, or way too restrictive. Eventually I just stumbled across VT, and decided that this is the best teen forum around. I like giving advice and debating, so this fit me pretty well.

Quote:
2. If you could meet any VT member irl who would it be??
There was someone that I really wanted to meet, but she has since left VT, so I guess that isn't an option. Hm, I really have to think about this one. For some reason I am leaning towards @Vlerchan, so yea, lets go with him.
Quote:
3. Favourite school subject and why?
History, no doubt about it. I find it so fascinating the ways and how people did things in the past. Great battles and great men to study and analyze. I honestly have a bookshelf filled with history books that I read just for fun I can't explain why, I simply love it. My family thinks I'm crazy because I like it.
Quote:
4. Why the name 'plasmaham'?
You don't want to know how many times I get asked this. And I guess there is good reason to ask, and my answer is, there is no reason. I was just thinking random thoughts one day, when somehow the term 'PlasmaHam' just became stuck in my brain. It sounded cool and unique, so I've been using it ever since for my username on any websites. Don't over think it, there is no hidden meaning behind it, just sounds cool.
Quote:
5. Favourite movie?
No idea, my favorite genres are action and sci-fi if that helps, but I really can't choose one as my favorite.
Quote:
6. Favourite musical artist??
I don't listen to music enough to know.
Quote:
7. Halloween or xmas?
I love both, but I love Christmas more.

Opinion on FDR?
What's Western European country would you like to visit?
What Latin American country would you like to visit?
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
What news sources do you find you typically read?

@Vlerchan, so sorry for the delay in answering this, didn't realize you posted.

I like Grecian/Roman-era Mediterranean history probably the most. Time period of probably 500BC to 500AD, and in the region that would eventually form the Roman Empire. I also like Medieval Europe and the Ancient Middle East, but the era in between is the most fascinating in my opinion.
Quote:
Opinion on FDR?
FDR, I feel that he was a good wartime and societal leader. I do think his economic policies were really only good at preventing the spread of the depression, not actually reversing it. On the top of my head, I can think of how he thought the destruction of hundreds of acres of cotton and 2 million pigs would somehow help the economy. Sure, that helped farmers, but it also sent food prices flying. I see the real solution to the Depression was the return of free commerce after the war. But even though I find his economics flawed, his real strength was his leadership skills. Even though the Depression wasn't getting too much better, he was able to convince the people that everything was going to turn out alright. That is why I think so many people see him as the hero of the Great Depression, not because he fixed the problem, but because he gave the population hope to get through it, which makes a great leader.

Quote:
What's Western European country would you like to visit?
Probably Germany.
My great-grandparents were German, and I find German and Northern European culture and history to be particularly fascinating. Would be interesting to check out.
Quote:
What Latin American country would you like to visit?
None.

Alright, I'll give you one. Even though I have no real want to visit Latin America, I'll say Argentina.
Quote:
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I plan on getting a degree in Mechanical Engineering(though recently I have been thinking about politics and law too) within the next 5 years. By ten years I plan to be full-time working as a Mechanical engineer, and living under my own roof. Marriage is an unseen, but more than likely I would not get married by that time. I don't really want to go into any more detail
Quote:
What news sources do you find you typically read?
Well, I have to be honest and admit Fox News as probably the leading TV news channel for myself. But I get a lot of news too from CBS news radio, I listen to talk radio and radio news far more than the average teenager. I also occasionally watch conservative-based podcasts and read independent online news sources.

I honestly enjoyed your questions, feel free to ask more.

I think Asia is such a diverse continent it would be difficult to effectively describe my views of it within reasonable confines. There are so many different cultures ranging from Russia to the Middle East to India to the Far East and so many more. I'll just say that my opinion varies on region.

Now, about the country, I would like to visit Israel and other Middle Eastern countries as I find the culture and history fascinating. My father was actually stationed over along the Turkish-Syrian border during his time in the Air Force, and he has some interesting stories about it. But of course given the current political climate I am going to stay away from there. If I had to choose something right now, I would probably choose Japan.

Watched a fascinating inside North Korea documentary recently. It is rather eye opening and depressing. Pyongyang for instance is adorn with hundreds of statues and portraits of the Kim Dynasty and is kept very clean and nice looking yet it is completely empty of anyone except for government officials and a few highly restricted workers.
Quote:

It is an influential entity and should only get involved in cases where the USA would be directly affected or if there is clear violations of basic human rights.

If you lived during the Middle Ages, what would your job/trade be?

If you had the power to do so, what would be the one federal law you would enact?

Favorite sport?

Carpenter. Mainly because I already do carpentry as a hobby and it would be an easy trade for me in a much-more wood dependent era.

Forcibly relocate all liberals to California and then build a wall around California so they couldn't get out. I would then sign a bill formally forcing California out of the Union and proceed to sink it into the ocean.

Okay, as good as that might be lets get a bit more serious. The one Federal law I would enact if I had the power, is a law which seriously limits the Federal government's power. Seems kinda ironic and odd, but let me explain. I am very much against Federal over reach, I feel that the states can do a much better job at it. Most everything I am against is done at the Federal level, be it abortion, gay marriage, crazy spending, common core, etc. Thus I can basically fix my every problem with the Federal government by reducing its power and giving it back to the states.

Baseball. I'm not a huge fan of it via TV, but I do watch lots of the local minor leagues and colleges. I do a rec baseball team currently, and has helped coach my sister's softball team. I just find baseball to be a more enjoyable experience both on the field and in the stadium than sports like football or basketball.

This is a quick update to all it may concern. For numerous reasons I won't be posting too much over the next few weeks. I won't go into details, but don't expect any updates on my personal forum or much involvement from me in debates. However I should be able to come back to VT fully by mid-january.

In the mean time, feel free to post on my forum! The AMA thread is always wanting of new questions, and Liberal Logic is always in need of some good liberal bashing.

I've heard of her, but I've never really read into her stuff nor have I much knowledge on her. She seems very much like a woman Trump, minus the billionaire/president status. I don't agree with her on government control, nor her aggressive attitude, but she has some good points and is not afraid to share them even in the face of ridicule.

There are so many great quotes, it is really difficult to choose a favorite. One that has stuck with me recently is the quote by James Mattis of,"Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet."

This has the gentlemanly warrior feel that I feel makes a great quote. While I can't say it is my favorite, it is definitely up there.

I think you are a good and interesting person. A bit edgy, but humorous and fun in your own way. You seem very genuine, which is more than I can say for many people here.

Opinion on Serbia?
Well, for some reason when I think of Serbia I always think of it as still a Soviet puppet state. Which is odd being that I didn't even live during the Cold War. This may seem a bit rude, but I really don't have a real opinion on Serbia. My understanding of other countries in the modern day is quite lacking, probably the reason why I think all of Eastern Europe is communists.

What music are you into?
I am mainly into folk music and classic rock. Most of the modern stuff is not appealing to me honestly. In terms of folk music, while I mainly listen to American I also listen to that of various different European countries.

Baseball, soccer, and hockey are the main three. Baseball is the only one which I actually play on a team for though.

Serbia was a part of Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. A "Coca-cola socialism"-oriented state. Coca-cola because they always balanced and had good relations with both the Soviet bloc they weren't a part of and the West. Now Serbia is a country in transition. It's okay if you don't know, only if you make uninformed claims which I never saw you did, only stated opinions which you yourself said were probably incorrect.

I appreciate the info. My knowledge of European cultures is lacking, so I occasionally make incorrect generalizations. Its fairly easy from an American point-of-view to confuse the 30-something different European nations with each other. I try to be factually correct, but sometimes I don't have the time to do proper research. I appreciate your help.

Man, you got me in a serious quagmire. On one hand I love astronomy and the idea of space exploration. On the other hand I much prefer small government spending overall. I have literally asked this question to myself when issues of NASA funding comes up. You have asked me one of the few government issues in which I have no answer.

I would continue to fund NASA definitely, but to what extent I don't know.
