Cool Annoying Startup Problem

So, when i turn the computer on, its goes through POST ok, then says INVALID SYSTEM DISK; INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER. so i out the XP CD in then press enter then it says, BOOT CD: PRESS ANY KEY TO BOOT FROM CD.... then if you leave it for a few seconds it boots into windows, but it needs the cd to do it, and its quite annoying, ive tried reinstalling XP 3 times now, the ontly other thing i could try is XP Professional. but there are no floppy disks in the drive, so i just feel a bit

any ideas??

EDIT: i just thought, this problem started when i got the new case, but nothing was added/removed and no settings were changed
