Default Struggling with Diagnosis

I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder a few weeks ago.

Honestly i'm finding the diagnosis quite hard to deal with. It's something i've suspected i've had since I was about 15 years old. So in some ways it's a relief I guess. I have been seen by a psychiatrist before but he only diagnosed with me depression.

This time my history was taken by a clinical psychologist and both the psychiatric nurse and psychiatrist I saw this time only had to read my history and tell me I had a clear case of Borderline Personality Disorder.

The thing is, personality disorders are hugely stigmatised. You only have to give a quick google search to find many negative blogs/websites about living with someone with BPD. It's hard to read when you've just been diagnosed. I've not even had the courage to tell my parents- and i'm not sure I will.

I'm on a waiting list for treatment now.But feeling a little hopeless about everything and about it all.

You brought hate, pills and knives,
And this is how the tale begins.
Itís your life, exist and wonder why.
When it only fails to work,
It only fails to work sometimes
