a DLL is a dynamic link library. and that is... a library.
the libraries have *.dll extensions and must have an executable file call them. this means that DLLs cannot run by themselves. so when an executable file calls upon a DLL its similar to a set of instructions and 'profiles' (if u will) that will make the executable function in a proper way. VBscript usually doesnt need DLL files, while C++ and base Windows scripts usually do.
Happiness is not about being perfect.
It is about seeing beyond the imperfections.
