Actually every now and then they do. But not in the way you think, it's not like a car crash where theres a boom and everythings gone. For the most part they pass right through each other. There is collisions but not on a massive scale, it's just the odd solar system that get swallowed by a black hole kinda thing. I know allot about space.....Space is cool. Think about it the same basic chemicals that make us also abundant in galaxys. Sure we don't have antimater or dark matter but give us a few millenia.
