Default 3 British soldiers die in American friendly fire incident

Three British soldiers died and a further two were injured after the troops were attacked during a routine patrol northwest of Kajaki in southern Afghanistan on thursday 23rd August. They came into an intensive fight and during the fight they called in close air-support of two f-15 U.S aircraft, when comming into support them in a battle against the tailban, the f-15's dropped a single bomb on the british forces,

a spokesman said 'we called in fire onto what this case was the tailban.......either the posistion was inaccurate or their was a problem with the bomb'

This brings the total number of British deaths in Afghanistan since the Taliban toppled in 2001 to 73

The ministry of defence has launched an investigation into the incident.
