I don't think I've ever posted here so hey, I'll just add my few cents.
I think I only realized it recently. I've dated guys in the past and it made me think I was asexual because I would genuinely really like the guy but not... I don't know. Not enough to count as a real relationship. Oh and kissing was a huge problem for me, I was grossed out.
Now I'm dating a girl and it's a lot different. I've always viewed girls a lot differently and knew I liked them but hadn't had the chance to have a relationship with one. I can kiss my girlfriend and not be freaked out like it was something wrong. I think there's still a tiny appeal in guys but... not much at all. So I just say I'm gay now.
The asexual thing is a bit more personal so I've started letting it just come up in conversation rather than announcing it. I'm not really sure how accurate it is or not.
