Something I have found works for me is taking my mp3 player and going for a ride on the bus or the train or walking to the park and sitting on a bench untill the urges pass. Take your music with you so you can focus on that and gradually the urges lessen and fade till you can cope with them.
Alternatively you can play the 5minute game. Say to yourself "I won't do it for 5 minutes" and find something else to do. Then you say it again to yourself. Do this untill you have distracted yourself sufficently to weaken the urges.
