The first thing you should do is stop drinking sodas and any kind of junk food that you know isn't good for you. That alone without doing anything else can get a some weight off. Then start walking daily for about 45 minutes to an hour. Being committed to that can get a good amount of weight off already. As you're more comfortable you can do more rigorous workouts like running/sprinting.
You should then start eating better and adding fruits and vegitables to your diet. Avoid lots of breads and eat wheat only. Make sure you eat 3 meals a day otherwise your metabolism will get knocked out of whack.
More importantly you need patience. Losing weight is going to take time but you need the motivation to do it. You have to want it badly to be skinner. It's not going to happen overnight. Starving yourself will only cause you to gain weight in the end so don't even try it.
