Default Re: PSP Experts

finally got the e-mail from them

Hi Brian,

Thank you for writing us.

The PSP system will support the following video formats.

- MPEG4 (.MP4)
- X-MP4
- M4V
- iTunes Video

* NOTE: Video files on your Memory Stick Duo(TM) that are in the MPEG4
format, must be saved at a
bit rate of 768 KB or lower, if you wish to view them on your PSP

You will need additional software to convert and view video files for
use with the PSP. Sony
Computer Entertainment of America, Inc. (SCEA) recommends the "Media
Manager for PSP(TM) portable
entertainment system" software. The software automatically converts
your files to high-quality Sony
AVC/AAC video for optimized viewing on your PSP system. These files
can then be stored on a Memory
Stick Duo or Memory Stick PRO Duo media cards.

Please visit the following website to read the full list of features of
the PSP Media Manager,
including pricing, system requirements, and supported formats.

*Other third party image-converting software applications may be
available. SCEA does not have any
recommendations nor do we offer support information on these products.
Please contact the
individual software vendors (or speak to a software specialist at your
local retail store) for
information regarding image conversion software that may be right for
your particular operating

PSP - OS Compatibility
The PSP(TM) portable entertainment system can connect to a computer
using a USB connection because
it can be accessed as a standard USB Mass Storage device. The computer
must have an operating system
that supports USB Mass Storage devices. This includes Windows XP
Home/Professional, Mac OS X, and
others. When using operating systems that do not come with support for
USB Mass Storage devices,
you may need to download additional software or drivers to enable
support for these devices. We
recommend contacting the manufacturer of your computer or operating
system (i.e. Microsoft, Apple,
etc.) for additional assistance.

Sony Computer Entertainment America, Inc. (SCEA) does not require a
proprietary driver for the PSP
system to be recognized by your computer. If your operating system
does not recognize the PSP
system, you will need to download a standard USB Mass Storage device
driver that is appropriate to
your particular operating system. Although the PSP system can be used
as a USB Mass Storage device,
device drivers for this class of peripherals are not part of SCEA's
product line; please consult
with the manufacturer of your operating system for the proper USB
driver download.
